The 2005 Emerald Regime Winter Guard show is entitled
“Traffic.” With costumes and flags designed with a highway stripe
and with an exciting stage set with green props and a floor painted to
indicate swift movement, the guard engages in a lively, fast-paced
choreographic orchestration of dance, equipment handling and visual
stimulation. The music, an original composition by Jim Wunderlich,
even includes a morning radio traffic report. Additional music is
by Philip Glass and Ravi Shankar.
Along with
guard captains and seniors, Melanie Hart and Becky Spence, eight other
Live Oak students dedicate their time, talent and energy to the success
of this organization. |

Congratulations to The Emerald Guard - CCGC Independent Regional
A Champions!
The Emerald Guard from Britton and Martin Murphy
Middle Schools are the reigning Independent Regional A Champions in the
California Color Guard Circuit - for the second year in a row. They
took this honor at the March 26, 2005, CCGC Championship at Cal State East
Bay (Hayward). In an amazing display of pageantry, the award ceremony
for the championship competition included over 1000 young people from
throughout the Bay Area.
Thank you to the hardworking students, their
supportive parents and the booster club for making this title possible. |
