Percussion (Cymbals, Bass Drum, and a short stint with a marching
tympani that I'd soon like to forget)
Hello Fellow Alumni! After three great years in band I had to have
more! So I marched in the bass line with the Santa Clara Vanguard
for three more years (84-86). I continued to work with the Emerald
Regime drum line from 1984 to 2002. I am currently working up at
Valley Christian High School teaching their bass line and percussion.
There are five of us Emerald Regime alumni plus Troy Gunter (band
director) on staff at VC.
If it
wasn't for band, I'd probably be married, have a family and a life.
No, just kidding... I wouldn't really be married, but I do have
a dog. I am also the current webmaster (so to speak) for this
site. Thanks to all of you for your participation!
If you get a chance, visit the other
"happiest place on Earth!":

Woodwinds (Clarinet)I just
did a random Google search of my name and found the Alumni page. After
seeing that my brother and sister were listed I decided that I wanted to
do the same, so here I am.
Band was one of the greatest highlights
of all of my schooling through graduate school. While I had wonderful
experiences along the way, band stands out because of the friends I
made. Some of these friends continue playing very important roles in my
life.
I also appreciate all of the hard work,
dedication and teamwork skills I learned and try to practice on a daily
basis. Perhaps I should have practiced my clarinet in the same
manner...oh well.
I love meeting people and finding out
that they were in band, too. It's a small world of band geeks out
there!!

I look back on all my years in school and being in band are my greatest
memories. I appreciate all that I was taught from Cricket and Mr.
Rubino.
They were the next best thing next to my father and grandparents for teaching
me discipline and strong morals. And, I also met my husband my first night
of practice!

Color Guard (Flag)When I think back to the Emerald Regime,
it always brings a smile. It was a lot of hard work, but we had a lot
of fun.
I have so much respect for Rubino and
Cricket. They were able to get over 100 teenagers to learn to work
together to create something beautiful. We learned to march next
to people we might not have liked, or might never have talked to
otherwise. Learning to work as one unit is one of the most
important lessons I learned in High School.
Rubino, Cricket Thank You! Thanks
for the memories, thanks for the life lessons, and thanks for the good
times. We really did do it " Our Way".

Color Guard (Flag & Rifle Line)Hello! I thought it was time to update my
entry. I am (still) married to Ken McCain (also a Live Oak graduate
'85). He managed to skip the band experience, but his brother Phillip
McCain played the trumpet in the band, don't ask me what years though. I
do know he went to Russia way back when. ANYWAY...Ken and I have two
great kids, Adrianna & Quinton. Adrianna has inherited my spirit, which
means payback is going to be brutal. Quinton is a mellow guy who is very
artistic and quite the gameboy addict. I still live in the area. I am in
the process of rebuilding my family's restaurant due to a tragic fire on
June 29,2002. I could rank that right up there with the death of my
father. I am blessed that no one was hurt though. So, at the moment I am
a full time mom who volunteers a heck of a lot at Nordstrom School. I
hope to see lots of familiar faces when we reopen. Check out our website
www.sinaloacafe.com.
Take care!

Clark, he still look's the same. And what is even weirder is he was
teaching my kid's and still doing a hell of a job. For those of you who

Greetings from Oregon! I'm still here (since
1984) and really love it up here. I'm still a Lt. for the Fire
Department - going on 18 years now. It's a great job and I work with
great people.
Boy is this a great website!! I love looking at all the old photos and
reading everybody's recent bios. One of these days I'm going to have to
make it to the 4th of July alumni parade, and that great cruise!! Hope
everyone is happy & healthy and doing what you want to do. I'd love to
hear from you!
